BENTHIS project started!
In January 2013 the BENTHIS kickoff meeting took place in Nantes, France, which marked the official start of the BENTHIS project.
In the following years, BENTHIS will assess the status of different benthic ecosystems in European waters and develop tools to assess the impact of fisheries. In close collaboration with the fishing industry, we will develop and test innovative fishing technologies that reduce the impact of trawl fisheries. Finally, we will help to develop sustainable management plans.
